Today we have some incredibly exciting news to share regarding the status of an iOS 6+ Untethered Jailbreak. According to a recent tweet from pod2g, an extremely knowledgable iOS security expert who’s been instrumental in the development of numerous Jailbreak solutions, he’s a part of a new, small group of hackers that’s recently formed.
@MuscleNerd, @pod2g, @planetbeing and @pimskeks shall henceforth be known as the evad3rs. The newly-formed four-man team has already claimed the @evad3rs twitter handle and has registered the corresponding domain, which simply redirects to their twitter – for now.

In spite of sending virtually zero tweets and having absolutely no description, as of now, the group’s twitter account has already accumulated upwards of 20,800 followers. The above tweet from pod2g was also retweeted by MuscleNerd (the unofficial leader of the iPhone Dev Team and arguably the most well-known iOS hacker).
On a related note, p0sixninja (the quondam leader of the Chronic Dev Team) recently sent a rather disconcerting tweet to his followers, which is embedded below.
Focusing on the future, and trying to forget about the past. RIP @chronicdevteam 2009-2012

While it’s not likely that p0sixnina was announcing the disbanding of the popular dev team, but was rather restating his departure from the Chronic Dev Team in August, one thing’s for certain: the next major Jailbreaking utility will come from the members of the evad3rs.
Originally stated by planetbeing when he announced his iPhone 5 is Jailbroken on iOS 6.0.2, the small circle of Jailbreak developers are holding off on releasing anything until Apple issues iOS 6.1 to the public. Stay tuned for complete coverage on the status of the iOS 6 Untethered Jailbreak as 6.1’s release draws ever closer.
