Apple Finally Releases iOS 6.1 To The Public, Untethered Jailbreak To Follow

iOS 6.1 Released Today, following Saturday’s release of iOS 6.1 beta 5, Apple just issued iOS 6.1 to the public. The new iOS update includes LTE support for additional carriers, additional Siri functionality that allows for ticket purchases via Fandango, the ability to individually download songs through iTunes Match and a new button that can reset the “Advertising Identifier”.


The release notes from Apple’s over the air (OTA) update page are listed below:

  • LTE support for more carriers (complete list of supported carriers at www.apple.com/iphone/LTE/)
  • Purchase movie tickets through Fandango with Siri (USA only)
  • iTunes Match subscribers can now download individual songs from iCloud
  • New button to reset the Advertising Identifier
