When trying to purchase a new iPad from Apple’s website, the most notable piece of information is the expected shipping date: “2-3 weeks”.
Apple informed USA Today that the demand for the new third-generation iPad has been “off the charts” and that they’re already sold out of their first pre-order batch:
“Customer response to the new iPad has been off the charts and the quantity available for pre-order has been purchased,” Apple said in a statement. “Customers can continue to order online and receive an estimated delivery date.”
Even though orders for the new iPad are pushed back online by up to three weeks, customers will still be able to purchase Apple’s newest iPad on the day of its launch (Friday, March 16th).
However, it’s almost guaranteed that every Apple retail store in the US will be flooded with eager customers and they’ll be completely sold out by the end of Friday.
