Apple Releases Mountain Lion GM And Begins Accepting Mac App Store Apps

Apple Releases Mountain Lion GM And Begins Accepting Mac App Store Apps Yesterday, in addition to seeding OS X Mountain Lion GM (the final version before a public release) to developers, Apple also started accepting Mountain Lion apps into the Mac App Store. According to an email sent out to registered developers yesterday, Apple is encouraging the submission of Mountain Lion apps to the Mac App Store for review:

Make sure your apps take advantage of the great new features in OS X Mountain Lion when the world’s most advanced operating system ships to millions of customers worldwide. Download OS X Mountain Lion GM seed and Xcode 4.4 GM seed, now available on the Mac Dev Center. Build your apps with these latest seeds, then test and submit for review.

You can also submit iOS apps that take advantage of the new cross-platform Game Center Groups, so they’ll be available when OS X Mountain Lion ships.

While the GM (Gold Master) version of Apple’s latest OS X release is currently available to developers, Mountain Lion is scheduled for public release later this month (July of 2012).

Similar to its predecessor, Lion, Mountain Lion will be available as an upgrade via the Mac App Store. Upon purchasing the update for $19.99, customers will be upgraded to the latest iteration of OS X and can use the same $19.99 digital copy across all of their Macs.
