The event is being held in San Francisco, California at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts and commenced promptly at 10:00 AM Pacific time (1:00 PM Eastern).

While there are no shortage of rumors surrounding the topics of discussion during the press conference, it’s widely assumed that Apple will unveil the sixth-generation iPhone – officially dubbed the iPhone 5 – and further discuss the latest mobile advancements in iOS 6. Previous reports suggested that the highly-rumored iPad mini will join the next iPhone in the spotlight during the event, recent reports suggest otherwise. It’s said that there will be a separate fall media event this October to reveal such a device. As for updates to their iPod lineup, it was unintentionally revealed by Apple this morning that the iPhone will share the stage this year with significantly improved iPod models – including an updated 5th-generation iPod touch.
