Today, ahead of their official earnings announcement later this month for the fourth quarter of the 2012 fiscal year, AT&T announced that the company has sold over ten million smartphones in Q4 alone with the “best-ever” iPhone and Android device sales.
Looking back, AT&T’s now-second best quarter in the company’s history was the fourth quarter of 2011 when they activated approximately 9.4 million total smartphones, 7.6 million of which were iPhones. While they didn’t announce a solid number for Q4 2012 iPhone sales, as previously mentioned, they did state that they had “best-ever quarterly sales” for Apple’s iPhone, thus exceeding Q4 2011’s sales of 7.6 million.
With a full three months of iPhone 5 sales, Apple is also expected to report a solid quarter when they release their official earnings on January 23rd – not to mention their other recent updates across numerous product lines. Stay tuned for complete coverage on financial announcements from both AT&T and Apple.
