iOS 5 Untethered Jailbreak Bug Found By Pod2G

by on November 7, 2011

This morning, Pod2G from The Chronic Dev Team announced his findings of an  untethered Jailbreak bug iOS 5. This bug, according to Pod2G, may lead to the upcoming release of an untethered iOS 5 Jailbreak utility. The tweet, found here, states the following:

Hey jailbreaking friends, I’ve found a bug that can untether iOS 5. Don’t expect a release soon, but I’m gonna work hard in it.

Pod2G is a member of the Chronic Dev team who are the people behind highly popular 4.2.1 Jailbreak utility known as GreenPois0n. At the MyGreatFest Jailbreak convention this year, the Chronic Dev team announced five “userland jailbreak exploits” they had discovered for jailbreaking iOS 5 devices with A5 processors. This newly discovered software bug seems to be something entirely different from the five “userland jailbreak exploits” that they announced at MyGreatFest and will certainly benefit the Jailbreak community!

As always, there’s no untethered iOS 5 jailbreak out at the moment, but as stated by Pod2G, the Chronic Dev Team is working very hard to push one out in the coming weeks and months. Until then, be sure to check back with BestTechInfo daily for more iOS 5 untethered Jailbreak news.
