Earlier today, the evad3rs (the newly-formed group of renowned iOS security experts and hackers developing the forthcoming evasi0n iOS 6 through 6.1 Untethered Jailbreak utility) updated their official site to reflect their recent accomplishments. Now, when visiting their site, their current status update states that applications “for Windows and OS X are finished,” while also mentioning that linux development and various testing is all that remains.
The “next step” for the evad3rs is to enter private beta testing, with the emphasis on private. As stated by MuscleNered, one of the key members of the evad3rs, they reserve the right to participate in beta stages to those close to them for obvious “pragmatic (paranoid?!) reasons”.
Lots of genuine offers to beta test #evasi0n (thanks!). For pragmatic (paranoid?!) reasons, that usually happens in very controlled stages

Finally, this morning pod2g sent a tweet to his followers regarding the team’s plans for a release on Sunday. However, instead of clarifying the situation, he said the following “Can be sunday, after, or before!”.
About evasi0n release. Nothing is certain. Can be sunday, after, or before!

While we can only assume pod2g was referring to after or before the Super Bowl, which just so happens to take place this weekend, one thing’s for certain: the team’s evasi0n utility is slated to be released sometime Sunday. Stay tuned for complete coverage on the status of the iOS 6, 6.0.1, 6.0.2 and 6.1 Jailbreak and for an in-depth tutorial once the tool is made available to the public.
