After successfully Jailbreaking all A4-based devices, the iPhone 3GS and the iPod Touch third generation on iOS 5.0.1, pod2g announced that he had moved on and is in the process of adapting his untethered Jailbreak to the iPhone 4S and the iPad 2. However, according to his latest statement, it would appear that pod2g has hit a minor snag in the development of the iPhone 4S Jailbreak:
The untether fails right now because I’m having processor cache issues. I’m close, but I can’t figure out what happens. It certainly has something to do with the Cortex-A9 cache management. I could sort it out quick, it’s a matter of chance.
As stated by pod2g himself, this could be a simple fix or, it could take some time to work around the obstacle – “it’s a matter chance”. As always, stay tuned and we’ll keep you updated on the progress of the untethered Jailbreak.
