iPad Mini Jailbroken One Day After Its Release

iPad mini Jailbroken a day after release

Today, November 3rd, Musclenerd (the leader and public face of the iPhone Dev Team) sent a tweet to his followers with an image that proves the iPad mini has been Jailbroken only a day after its release.

While not entirely obvious to the average user, the above screenshot of mobile terminal clearly shows that they have achieved root access on the iPad mini, which is essentially what Jailbreaking is (enabling root access).

Unfortunately, as stated in Musclenerd’s tweet, the iPad mini was Jailbroken by way of a Failbreak. For those of you who are unaware, a Failbreak is essentially a Jailbreak that cannot be released because it relies on a iOS Developer account and possible legal issues.

However, at least it’s been confirmed that the developers can Jailbreak both the iPhone 5 and the new iPad mini – certainly a step in the right direction for a full-fledged public Jailbreak. Stay tuned for complete coverage on the status of the iOS 6 and 6.0.1 Jailbreak for newer iOS-based devices.
