How To Jailbreak 7.0.4, 7.0.6 Untethered iPhone 5S, 5C, iPhone 4S, iPad Air, Mini 2, iPod Touch Evasi0n 7

by on March 1, 2014

Today arguably marks the most exciting day in Jailbreak history! The evad3rs have finally released the public version of evasi0n7: the first and only Untethered jailbreak utility for iOS 7, which not only supports Apple’s latest 7.0.6 firmware, but also 7.0, 7.0.1, 7.0.2, 7.0.3, 7.0.4 and 7.0.5. Furthermore, all iOS 7-based devices are supported, including the iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C, iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPad Air, iPad mini, iPad mini 2, iPad 3, iPad 2.

First, before we proceed, you will need the following:

  • One of the iOS-based devices listed above running either iOS 7, 7.0.1, 7.0.2, 7.0.4, 7.0.5 or 7.0.6 that hasn’t been upgraded via Apple’s over the air (OTA) update feature. If you did perform an over the air update, simply back up your device via iTunes, restore to the latest iOS 7.0.4 firmware, complete this tutorial to Jailbreak and then restore from your iTunes backup to retrieve your data.
  • Evasi0n 7 (available in the download section below)

Steps (for Mac and Windows users):

1. Open the evasi0n 7 utility after downloading it and place the Jailbreak in an easy-to-access location on your computer – I  recommend the desktop.

2. After running evasi0n 7, connect your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to your computer via a USB cable, unlock your device and click “Jailbreak”.

3. When prompted, unlock your iOS-based device, as shown in the video, and tap the evasi0n 7 icon once.

Untethered: Your iOS-based device is Untethered, which means you won’t be required to plug in via a USB cable and re-run a portion of the utility every time you wish to reboot – simply power your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad off and back on again.

Congratulations, you now have an Untethered Jailbreak on iOS 7, 7.0.1, 7.0.2, 7.0.4, 7.0.5 or 7.0.6!

Download Section:

Update: The evad3rs recently released evasi0n7 1.0.1, which can be downloaded below, to remove TaiG support for Chinese users.

Update 2: Following Apple’s release of iOS 7.0.6, the evad3rs updated evasi0n7 to version 1.0.6 to include Untethered Jailbreak support for iOS 7.0.6.

Update 3: Today, March 1st, 2014, the evad3rs released evasi0n7 1.0.7 to correct various complications with Cydia updates.

People asking where’s the download link when it’s clearly in there; the word “Download” is even underlined at the bottom of the article. What the fuck. It’s already 2014, I thought people can fucking read. Stop being a kid who wants their lollipop right away when they ask for it. Damn fucktards.

So many complaints. And you said in the video that if you updated OTA to just restore it on iTunes back to 7.0.6 but in the steps you say 7.0.4 which one is it Einstein

If it crashes on you when its almost at the end, then you need to use iTunes and restore your phones default settings with iOS 7.04, then your all good

@everyone. You need to put your device into recovery (or DFU) mode to restore it if you’re stuck on the apple screen. Plug it into the computer while it’s on. Hold both the home button and the top lock button for about 10 seconds. The device will reboot. When the apple logo comes back on, let go of the top button while still holding the home button. Your screen will then go to a screen showing a usb cable plugging into itunes. Your computer may automatically open itunes, if not, go ahead and open it. If itunes doesnt pick up your device, unplug, then replug it in. You will have to re-set up your device. As long as you have a backup on your computer or iCloud, you wont lose everything.

If done step by step the jailbreak works on iPhone 5 and 5s . I think I’ve jailbroken 12 or 13 different phones for people !! Just make sure to FOLLOW the steps ie; back up to iTunes and update via computer not over the air !! As for the iPad (s) I wasn’t able to get mine to complete (iPad 2) I’m sure whatever hiccup or glitch is being worked on …. We’ve all waited this long for the jailbreak , what’s a little more time right ?? If you can’t live without your iPad jailbroken drop back down to 6.1.3 and jailbreak using the older evasion jailbreak ….

Make sure your update to 7.0.4 wasn’t done via wifi or over the air ….. Make sure to update it via iTunes …. Back up before you restore and update your phone to the 7.0.4 ….. Then follow the steps thru the evasion jailbreak and you shouldn’t have any problems ….. Even my iPad 2 is now jailbroken….

How long should i wait for ‘Configuring System (2/2)’ before I should be worried? A little info on what I did… I downloaded 7.0.4 OTA, so I followed the directions as instructed and restored my iPhone after backing it up. Now, before I restored the backup, I proceeded to downloading evasi0n7. I then pressed jailbreak, and after about 10 minutes of the loading bar staying in one place, I force-quit the application, and rebooted it. The same thing happened again, so I repeated the process. Now, after watching the video(which I should have done first), I realized I wasn’t supposed to be messing with my phone at the same time. As I was following along with the video, I noticed I already had the evasi0n7 app on my phone. So I figured I could safely delete it and start from the beginning to prevent any missteps. I then restarted the video and followed along to a ‘t’. I then saw that after about 5 minutes, his phone rebooted as it should. After 20 minutes, mine still did not reboot, and kept the message, “Configuring System (2/2)”. Please help. What must I do to correct this issue?

When I bring up iTunes it won’t recognize it unless I hold the power and home button and put it into recovery mode !! And ideas or heard of any other problems like this ?

Am sure you did an OTA update to iOS 7 that’s why you have the problem. What you should do is Download the iOS 7 ipsw file for your ipad onto your pc and shift-restore it via iTunes. After do the evasion jailbreak. it should work.

After downloading the file put ur iPad in restore mode by holding down your home button and power button for about 10 secs and then releasing the power button while still holding down the home button for another 10 secs. Let itunes recognize the device in restore mode, then u can restore it

if your iDevices updated ios7 over OTA (directly updated from your phone), your idevices will be stuck at the apple logo when jailbreaking them. The solution is download the ipsw of your ios7 version, iconnect your iDevices with iTunes, backup everything, put your iDevices into DFU mode, then do a shift-restore for your iDevices with the ipsw file you downloaded earlier. Once the shift restore finished, you can JB your iDevices without any problems.

Okay, I restored my iPad, now. And after I restore, will that backup get deleted? Or I can use that backup I had at first to restore my Ipad after I try jailbreaking my iPad again with a result of another failure?

Anyone know if v1.0.1 is working with iPad 2 wifi+GSM (at&t)? It’s currently at 7.0.1 after wifey unknowingly updated via OTA and killed the JB that was working with 5.1.1. Thanks!

I immediately tried this to my ipad2 which had the looping reboot sequence problem. After using this update, it still has the same looping reboot… I’m restoring the ipad now. Unjailbroken unfortunately.

before you jailbreak any idevice you should always start from a factory restore. Back up your device, restore, then jailbreak. Every jailbreak pro knows that. So try that, if it doesnt work, well the jailbreak is crap..happy holidays!

Rather than to just say that “it doesn’t work, fix my problem, blah blah blah,” it would be more useful for everyone having troubles to give a little more detail if you expect help. Just saying.

Make sure you turn off the iCloud backup on your phone and in iTunes, backup to computer rather than iCloud. Then just restore normally. If you have issues, reply back.

No. Wait until Saurik has updated Cydia and other devs have a chance to do the same. Otherwise you spend too much time reinstalling Mobile Substrate after EVERY tweak.

Sounds like I’m not the only one who ran into problems after trying to jailbreak my iPhone 5s (which I had updated to iOS 7.0.4 from iTunes). After completing the jailbreak, my display got stuck on the Apple logo (even with a reboot attempt). I finally gave in and restored my phone, which I had to make a couple attempts, which made we sweat a bit. so maybe evasi0n’s not quite ready for prime time yet. Looking forward to when this problem is fixed.

Keep trying: close iTunes 1st, then as you connect your docking USB cable to your iPhone, keep the home button held down. While keeping the home button pressed, open iTunes (if it hadn’t opened automatically). When you see on your phone the display of the cable and iTunes logo, you can let go of the home button. then follow the prompts that hopefully will pop up from the iTunes app. I had to do this twice before I finally got my iPhone 5s restored.

For all of you who get some kind of problem while jb, keep in mind that your iDevice MUST be updated to 7.0.4 using iTunes. Used this method, works like a charm on my iPh5, no problems at all. If you were using OTA update, u have to back up iDev, then restore using iTunes to fresh 7.0.4, then restore from backup (if you want your stuff back on iDev) and then get into the JB process.

The Chinese did not in fact back door anything. The company asked the Evaders to bundle in an app for them. After Jailbreaking switch your language to Chinese and you will see it. But the Team7Jailbreak statement is complete BS. Cydias creator even denounces them.
