Next-Generation iPhone Set For An October Release, According To Foxconn’s Head Of Human Resources

by on April 9, 2012

Last week a report broke of a Foxconn recruiter who suggested that the next-generation iPhone is being built for a June release and the news quickly spread across the web like wildfire.

The recruiter claimed that Foxconn, the manufacturing company, is hiring an extra 18,000 employees for the sole purpose of meeting Apple’s increased next-generation iPhone orders. However, another (un-named) source, the head of human resources at one of Foxconn’s factories has intel that would suggest otherwise:

South Korea’s Maeil Business Newspaper begs to differ. According to a recently published article, the paper asked the head of human resources at Foxconn’s Taiyuan factory about the iPhone 5 release date. The human resources head apparently told the paper, “We just got the order. It [the release] will be around October.”

While the employees’ reports contradict each other, the second one seems to hold more validity. As mentioned in a previous article, it would be unlike Apple to release the next iteration of their iPhone before the current model has had a year in the spotlight like its predecessors.

With that said, stay tuned for full coverage and additional reports on Apple’s upcoming next-generation iPhone.
