During this year’s World Wide Developer Conference, held in June, Apple announced that OS X Mountain Lion (the next major installment to their proprietary operating system) would be publicly available sometime in July. While the specific release date was unknown since Apple’s announcement, we certainly know now.
Last week, it was reported that Amazon is in the design and development stages of having a smartphone created that will sell at a lower price point than the more popular devices. Yesterday, in addition to seeding OS X Mountain Lion GM (the final version before a public release) to developers, Apple also started accepting Mountain Lion apps into the Mac App Store. According to an email sent out to registered developers yesterday, Apple is encouraging the submission of Mountain Lion apps to the Mac App Store for review:
