Earlier this evening, Apple published a support document regarding the Flashback malware that has been infecting OS X-based computers running an older version of Java Runtime. While the Malware has reportedly infected over 600,000 Macs worldwide, it’s harder to become infected than one would think.
Today Apple’s App Store has reached an unbelievable number of apps downloaded worldwide: 25 billion. If every person on the planet were downloading App Store apps, the ratio of apps to people would be approximately 3.6:1!

According to antivirus experts, a modified version of the “Flashback” trojan horse virus called “Flashback.G” has been discovered roaming the internet in search of gullible Mac users. The virus disguises itself as an “Apple Inc.” certificate and once installed, it exploits a vulnerability found in older versions of Java Runtime.
