Last week, after announcing that exploits discovered for iOS 5.1 would be saved to create an untethered Jailbreak utility for iOS 6 instead, pod2g (a prominent iOS hacker) started having second thoughts and initiated a poll with the intent of having the Jailbreak community determine the fate of the exploits.

Tonight pod2g, a renowned iOS security expert and hacker, updated his followers on Twitter with a series of tweets regarding the iOS 5.1 untethered Jailbreak status. On April 18th, pod2g announced that he managed to discover all of the exploits (presumably userland) required to create a “new [Untethered] jailbreak”.

On Wednesday, April 18th pod2g, a very prominent iOS security expert among the Jailbreak community, revealed that he and the other hackers he’s collaborating with have discovered all the required exploits for a “new [and untethered] jailbreak”.
