Retina Resolution MacBook Pro According to DigiTimes and their “sources in the upstream supply chain”, the next-generation MacBook Pro with come equipped with a stunning 2880-by-1800 resolution Retina display. The report also claims that the next-generation MacBook Pros could hit the shelves as early as the second quarter of 2012:

While the prevailing MacBook models have displays with resolutions ranging from 1680 by 1050 to 1280 by 800, the ultra-high resolution for the new MacBook Pro will further differentiate Appleā€™s products from other brands, commented the sources.

While this rumor almost seems too good to be true, it is backed up by some solid evidence – Intel’s upcoming Ivy Bridge processors. The next-generation processors are capable of natively supporting displays with a resolution of up to 4096-by-4096 and they’re also capable of decoding multiple 4K video streams simultaneously.

With that said, stay tuned for more news and rumors related to the next-generation MacBook Pro!
