According to The Next Web, a new iPhone 4S ad (centered around Siri) aired this afternoon during SportsCenter on ESPN. The commercial, embedded above, appears to be a Verizon iPhone 4S advert featuring Samuel L. Jackson.
Shortly after the Verizon iPhone 4S ad aired on SportsCenter, an AT&T iPhone 4S commercial with actress Zooey Deschanel went live – embedded below:
In the past, Verizon and AT&T have each created their own commercials specifically for various Apple products. With mainstream celebrates staring in the carriers’ ads, could they be resorting to celebrity endorsements like other products and brands?
UPDATE: Both advertisements (entitled “Date Night” and “Rainy Day”) were just recently uploaded on Apple’s official YouTube channel. It would appear as if the ads were created by Apple in conjunction with the two major carriers here in the US.
According to a semi-recent study, customers who buy their iPhones at a brick-and-mortar store are most likely to go to either Verizon or AT&T. The two companies are clearly battling head-to-head, separated by only two percent of the market, and it would seem as if they’re attempting to win customers over via enticing adverts with celebrities.
